I didn't see a thread for this yet so I'll create one for chat room rules. As the chat room becomes better the rules will be updated.
1) Do not spam. Avoid spam at all cost. One infraction will result in a warning. Two will result in a 1 minute mute. Three will result in a 5 minute mute. Four or more times will result in a kick and if infractions persist, there may be a possible ban.
2) No avoiding the censor. There's a censor for a reason. Anyone caught trying to avoid the censor will receive the same punishments as spamming.
3) Do not embed videos. They are a nuisance. Posting the link is fine, but do not embed them.
4) Respect all members and guests in the chat room. Flaming is not acceptable. Punishments for flaming are the same as spam and avoiding the censor.
5) For moderators: Do not abuse your power. any moderator caught abusing their chat powers will be revoked from their chat powers immediately, and if abuse continues may face a permanent demotion form moderator.
Like I said these rules are prone to change as the site progresses.

I rather like this, but currently, the chat room we have doesn't support mute. And since I still don't have my laptop fixed, I can't add moderators to it. So, if they abuse the chat room, just banned them from the site.

So, if they abuse the chat room, just banned them from the site. I see. But the chat room is separate from the board itself so banning someone from the site for misbehaving in the chat room sounds a bit of an extremity. Plus, the rules are subject to change. Their purpose is to set a flexible foundation to allow for changes as the site progresses in excellence. So shut the f**k up already I'm going to have to disagree with the banning from the site idea. With my inability to add moderators to the chat room at this moment, it is most logical way. However, banning people for small offense in the chat is prohibited.

Instead of banning people why not just give them a warning and then if they do it again then maybe a ban is necessary?

Instead of banning people why not just give them a warning and then if they do it again then maybe a ban is necessary? Well thanks to the new ban laws, that plan of initiative will be the most reasonable way to deal with matters.
